These Grilled Hawaiian Chicken Skewers are simple and easy to prepare, which is precisely what we want during lazy summer months. You know I love cooking shortcuts, so I used Maggi® Granulated Chicken Bouillon for an amazing flavor with no effort at all.

Hawaiian Marinade
Hawaiian marinade is supposed to be sweet, tangy and savory. To reach that combination of flavors I like to use barbecue sauce, which adds the sweetness and tanginess, and Maggi® Granulated Chicken Bouillon, which is a staple in my kitchen.

How to Make an Easy Hawaiian Marinade
You know I love kitchen shortcuts, so my Hawaiian marinade is made with Maggi® Granulated Chicken Bouillon, barbecue sauce, pineapple juice, oil, honey, garlic, ginger and black pepper. If you like the heat you can add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or Sriracha.
How Long to Marinate Chicken?
Chicken can be marinated for up to 2 days in the refrigerator according to United States Department of Agriculture, but I recommend keeping the marinade time up to 8 hours to ensure a good texture of the chicken, especially when the marinade is too acidic, this may affect the texture of the chicken.
Can You Put Wooden Skewers in The Grill?
Yes, you can! But make sure If you to place them into a large roasting tray of cold water to soak for at least 30 minutes – this will stop them from burning.
How Long Does Chicken Skewer Take to Grill?
It will depend on how big your chicken pieces are. 1 to 1.5-inch pieces will be cooked in 10 -15 minutes. Personally, I like to cut into the meat and check that the color of the meat is no longer pink. Make sure to turn the skewer to get nice and golden on all sides.
Can You Prepare Chicken Skewer the Night Before?
Yes, you can! Prepare chicken skewers, place on a baking sheet lined with foil, and then brush the marinade over top, making sure to coat well. Cover the tray well and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
What Goes with Chicken Skewer?
I like to serve Chicken Skewers with a big Coleslaw salad bowl, potato salad, corn, homemade rolls. The perfect menu for a cookout with family and friends.

Easy Grilled Hawaiian Chicken Skewers
Ingredients
Marinade:
- 2 tablespoons Maggi® Granulated Chicken Bouillon
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Skewers:
- 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 red onion cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups fresh pineapple cut into 1-inch cubes
- Oil in spray (I used avocado oil)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the chicken bouillon, barbecue sauce, pineapple juice, oil, honey, garlic, ginger and black pepper.
- Pour ¾ of the marinade over the chicken and toss to coat well – reserve ¼ to baste when grilling. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat the grill on high heat.
- Thread the chicken on skewers along with the pineapple, peppers and red onions
- Spray the skewers with a little oil, then place onto the grill and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until cooked through, turning and basting with the reserved marinade to get nice and golden on all sides.
- Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro, if desired, and serve.

Question Please- Can this marinate be made a couple days ahead and then marinate the chicken? I will be going on a short vacation and it would be so much easier to make this at home and then take with me to marinate the chicken there. I would like to not have to take all the ingredients for the marinate with me.
