Sometimes I get so fixed in my chicken dinner routine that I forget about the others protein options. Just like chicken, pork chops are incredibly easy to cook and super flavorful too.
So today it’s time to break out of the chicken routine and embrace a dinner that’s just a little different.
How do you cook pork chops in a slow cooker?
Season pork chop with salt and pepper. Place pork chops into the slow cooker. Add the sauce ingredients. Cover, and cook on HIGH for 3 hours or on LOW for 6 hours.

Slow Cooker Beer Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 6 – 8 pork chops (see notes)
- 1 teaspoon salt ,or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper ,or to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil (optional)
- ½ cup ketchup
- 1 bottle (330 ml) of beer
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Season pork chops with salt, black pepper and garlic powder.
- In the slow cooker or a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat; brown chops on both sides. If you are short of time you can skip this step.
- Place pork chops in the slow cooker.
- Mix ketchup, beer and brown sugar in a small bowl. Pour this mixture over the pork chops in the slow cooker and cover.
- Cook on HIGH heat setting for 3 hours or on LOW for 6 hours, or until fork-tender. Remove pork chops from slow cooker, and place on a plate; cover to keep warm.
- In a small bowl, stir cornstarch and water until well blended; stir into sauce in slow cooker. Return pork chops to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH heat setting 15 minutes or until thickened.
- Serve pork chops with the sauce.
