I’m obsessed with this Easy Avocado Sauce and I think you will be, too! It’s irresistible creamy, zesty, and full of flavor. Bonus: whole30 and paleo compliant.
When you make this 10-minute (or less) Easy Avocado Sauce you will be hooked for life. I am not kidding, so you have been warned.
I make a batch of this sauce every week! My family, including my picky eaters, loves it. And since it’s so smooth you can add it to EVERYTHING.
This Easy Avocado Sauce (a.k.a Venezuelan Guasacaca) is so incredibly easy, you’ll whip it up in no time. You can use it as a dip, spread, or dressing. This amazing avocado sauce enhances everything it touches.
HOW TO RIPEN AVOCADOS FASTER?
- Wrap avocados with a brown paper bag (newspaper will also work)
- Place wrapped avocados in a warm – dark place. I usually place them in the cabinet under the sink or in the pantry.
HOW TO KNOW WHEN AN AVOCADO IS RIPENED?
When the end of the avocado yields to firm pressure, the avocado is ready to use. When an avocado is ripe, pop it in the fridge, so they keep their deliciousness a bit longer.
HOW TO MAKE EASY AVOCADO SAUCE?
- Place all ingredients in a food processor, process until very smooth. I recommend adding just one teaspoon of salt at the beginning and then adjust if necessary.
- Taste and adjust seasoning to your liking adding more salt and/or lime juice. If the sauce is too thick for your taste you can add a couple of teaspoons of water to adjust consistency as needed.
- Keeps up to 4 -5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator – it won’t spoil!
TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST AVOCADO SAUCE
Avocados: You need ripe avocados to make avocado sauce. The small avocados (Hass) are the best tasting, in my opinion. The big ones, with bright green skin, are tempting but they lack in flavor. Extra tip: when buying avocados make sure that the “button” or brown stem piece is still in the avocados, this little guy acts as a seal so that air can’t get into the avocado keeping it fresh.
Oil: Please use a light-tasting oil to make this easy avocado sauce. Vegetable, corn, canola or avocado oil will work great, olive oil not so much because its taste overpowers the avocado taste.
Customize to your taste: after you process all the ingredients to smooth, taste and adjust seasoning as necessary adding more salt or lime. If you like the heat, you can substitute the green bell pepper for a jalapeño.
Salt: I recommend adding just one teaspoon of salt at the beginning and then adjust if necessary.
Lime juice should be fresh.
HOW LONG WILL AVOCADO SAUCE LAST IN THE FRIDGE?
Store Easy Avocado Sauce up to 4 -5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator – it won’t spoil!
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO KEEP AVOCADO SAUCE FROM BROWNING?
Many people add an avocado pit into the sauce/guacamole, others cover it with plastic wrap, or add a little bit of olive oil on top. According to my experience, all of these hacks help a little, but in the end, the sauce will oxidase anyway. So, try them all to see what work best for you.
EXTRA TIP: To make that your avocado sauce last longer, serve it with a wooden or plastic spoon, no steel/metal spoons in your Avocado Sauce. This help to slow down the oxidation.

This is my “everything” Avocado Sauce (Guasacaca) so I literally I add it to everything but here are some of my fave:

Ingredients
- 2 big ripe avocados, peeled and seeded
- 1 small onion, roughly chopped (about 1/3 cup)
- 1/2 green pepper, seeded and roughly chopped (1/4 cup)
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 6 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 3 limes)
- ¾ cup avocado oil
- 1 - 2 teaspoons kosher salt or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leave, tightly packed
Instructions
